v0.21.0

v0.21.0: The Arsenal opens

Weapons are now bought, not given. A new weapon to buy, a redesigned hangar, starred favorites, and a map you can navigate.

The roster stops being something the game hands you and starts being something you build.

Added

  • The Arsenal. A new shop under Research. Five weapons are standard issue from your first run; the other eleven are bought once, permanently, and survive prestige. Only weapons you own can turn up in a run's draft.
  • Frozen Orb, the first weapon that is new to the roster rather than unlocked from it. A slow orb of cold that climbs the sky spraying ice shards in every direction as it goes. Everything it clips comes away slower. In the Arsenal now.
  • Blizzard. Frozen Orb and Vapor Screen learn a tactic together: an orb crossing a vapor bank sets it snowing, and the cloud keeps its drag while it grinds everything inside.
  • Starred favorites. Star any weapon or synergy from the gallery. Starred cards sort to the top of a draft hand and wear a star there, so the thing you are building toward is always the first thing you see.
  • A synergy gallery. All 120 tactics, searchable, filterable by weapon. Every weapon also has its own page now, with a live demo and the full list of what it pairs with.

Changed

  • Prestige past rank 4 pays differently. Cannons cap at five. Ranks beyond that raise the damage of every weapon you field instead, so a deep prestige is felt everywhere rather than spread thinner along a wider line.
  • The hangar was rebuilt. Capacity is one meter instead of a pill per platform, every bay shows its build as a ring around the ship it is working on, and empty bays take orders directly. Finished ships join the fleet the moment they are done.
  • The map got flatter. Battlefield, Programs, Orbital Command and Deep Survey are each their own destination under Research, appearing as they unlock. Record, Gallery and Patch Notes moved into the Databank. Old links land where they should.
  • Prices read as symbols. Every cost in the game is written with the flux bolt and the scrap nut instead of spelled-out words, and the header shows both balances at a glance.
  • Sign in and sign out moved into Options, behind the one button that already meant your account. Signed in, it wears your face.
  • Draft cards show what is new and what level it lands at as two separate badges instead of one crowded one.

Fixed

  • Refreshing the page no longer forgets what you own. Mission select offered a single location after a refresh however many your perks had earned; every screen now waits for your save before deciding what you have.
  • Recorded runs made before this version are marked as approximate. What a run is allowed to draft is now part of the run itself, so older recordings no longer play back exactly.
