v0.11.0

v0.11.0: Boss guns locked in

Boss guns can no longer be destroyed, the Revolver keeps one pace, and the camera meets every boss at the door.

A boss rework: the guns stay on. Shooting them still hurts the boss, but you can no longer defuse a platform by stripping its hardpoints.

Balance

  • Boss-mounted guns can no longer be destroyed. They still take damage, and every point of it hurts the boss: a gun's health drains into the boss bar as before, and once a gun runs dry, further damage passes straight through to the hull. Eliminating the guns was simply too powerful. Guns now fall with the boss, paying their bounty and XP at that moment.
  • The Hive Carrier's brood hangars follow the same rule. The flood stops when the hull cracks, not before.
  • The Revolver's regrow mechanic is retired: guns can't be destroyed, so nothing needs regrowing. The sealed-chamber armor still matters, since the exposed station performer takes full damage while sealed chambers take a tenth.
  • The Revolver's debut at wave 30 is now the all-laser show: every chamber on the drum is a lance, so each station stop is the full charge and burn. Repeat encounters keep the mixed rocket and lance loadout.
  • Lance beams now open with a discharge: the built charge lands all at once as a blast at the ground point and a heavy bite of integrity, and the burn sustains the wound from there. Boss lasers were all sizzle and no punch.
  • Vapor bank caps now scale with your emplacement count, matching the balloon mines. A prestiged battery screens its whole widened sky instead of stretching one allowance across it.

Fixes

  • The Revolver's outer ring no longer speeds up while the boss is being hurt. The dying-boss mop-up used to spin the drum continuously, which read as a rev-up under fire. The ring now keeps one pace for the whole fight: constant rotation while indexing, a full hold at every firing station.
  • Fixed a crash in the flame jet effects introduced alongside the Reduced Effects option, and Reduced Effects now correctly thins the jet per flame instead of cutting off whole sprays.

UI

  • The camera glides to a boss's descent lane the moment it appears on a widened prestige field, so the entrance is never off-screen. Holding a pan button takes over immediately.
  • The side-scroll pan buttons only appear while pressing them would actually move the view. All the way to the right, the right button is gone.
  • Pan buttons restyled from floating circles into edge tabs that match the rest of the HUD.
