A firing arc, a fuller sky
The guns now cover a 120 degree arc of sky that the new Traverse Gears perk widens, wave 1 brings about seventeen drones, enemies take until wave 24 to reach full pace, and new enemy types arrive one every five waves.
Weapons
- The guns have a firing arc. Emplacements engage a 120 degree slice of sky centered straight up, where before they could turn to anything above the horizon. Low flankers, like a tumbler landed on the far side or a ram sweeping in wide, sit outside the arc and can't be targeted however close they fly. The barrel stops at the arc's edge, so where it points is always somewhere it can shoot.
Enemies
- A slower opening and a longer climb. Enemies fly at 80% pace through the first three waves instead of 90%, and reach full pace at wave 24 instead of 10. The climb past that is gentler too, so top speed arrives around wave 90 instead of the low 60s.
- Drones take longer to find their dive. Their dive builds to full force by wave 30 instead of 18, keeping the swarm heavy and lazy while the crowd thickens around it.
- New enemy types arrive on a steadier beat. Gnats show up at wave 4 instead of 6 and tumblers at 9 instead of 10, then each new type gets five waves to itself: javelins at 14, the warden at 19, rams at 24. Before, javelins and the warden landed together and rams followed four waves later.
Waves
- More ships in every wave. Wave 1 opens with about seventeen drones instead of fourteen, and the extra crowd carries through the whole run. The pressure comes from how many are falling, not how fast.
Perks
- Traverse Gears. A new Offense perk with three ranks. Each rank turns the mounts 10 degrees further to either side, opening the firing arc from 120 degrees to the full 180 at cap.
Fixes
- Gallery pair links go to the pair. On a weapon's page, picking one of its tactics now scrolls the synergies page to that tactic's demo instead of landing at the top.
