Research Center and orbital platforms
The perk shop becomes the Research Center with a scrap-funded wing, orbital platforms start building a fleet, and rare glinting wrecks can be tapped for scrap.
Bosses
- The Revolver's drum armor is much weaker. Its sealed chambers were blocking nine tenths of incoming damage, which made the fight a wall. The gun at the firing station is still the best target, but the rest of the drum now takes real damage. Its health is unchanged.
Perks
- The Research Center. It replaces the perk shop. Perks are its flux wing, unchanged. Research is its new scrap wing, and unlike perks, research survives prestige. Every research program costs both flux and scrap.
Economy
- Glinting wrecks. Now and then a wreck comes down glinting. Tap it for a lump of scrap. Bosses leave them far more often, and a boss glint is worth about ten times a drone's. A glint hangs for nine seconds and waits out card drafts, and it is rare enough that you never need to hunt for one.
- Salvage Beacons. Three ranks of research that make glints appear more often. A glint is worth the same either way.
Orbit
- Launch Program. Satellite launches are no longer handed out at your first prestige. The breakthrough now points you to the Research Center, where the Launch Program is your first project. If you already have satellites in orbit, you keep your launches.
- Panel Efficiency. Five ranks, each adding 15% to the flux every satellite earns.
- Orbital platforms. Once your constellation is full at five satellites, the Orbital Factory Program opens a second thing to launch. A platform uses the same launch run, but its climb takes a full minute instead of 30 seconds, and each platform costs twice the one before.
- Build a fleet. Each platform builds one ship at a time, so a second platform means two at once. Build anything you have fought, from gnats to bosses: a gnat takes two minutes, a boss an hour, with cost scaling the same way. Builds continue while you are away. The fleet is for invasions, which arrive later.
- Fleet research. Fabrication Lines shortens every build. Splitter Doctrine and Shield Doctrine fit your ships with the same tricks the invaders use on you, for extra cost and time.
Interface
- Orbital Command. A new screen set in a platform's hangar, looking out the bay doors at the world you defend. Below the view are each platform's current build and the roster you can order from. The Research Center links to it.
